3 days into my new job as a patient service associate, today's finally my day off!! haha.
hmm, these 3 days i was busy following my buddy around everywhere she goes to learn abt everything. there's really a lot of things to learn abt, really. but i'm glad tt the people ard me are quite nice, though i'm ignorant abt everything. for the first 2 days i was quite disorientated, losing my way everywhere i went despite all the signs and directories that were supposed to be helpful. luckily, i met kind souls along the corridors who guided a lost soul to find the WAY. but i'm happy that yesterday i managed to sort of catch the momentum of work finally.
haha. but I ACTUALLY FORGOT HOW TO USE A PHOTOCOPY MACHINE, despite the rich experiences i had in nj photocopying all the exam papers, gp notes n so on. haha. i guess i was too nervous cos i actually photocopied a black page and asked my senior if the machine is out of ink. so pai seh.
hmm .. let me elaborate more abt my job. basically, there are 2 clinic sessions everyday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. so my job every morning will be to locate all the casenotes of my patients on tt day. then, i would go into my designated room to sterilize the tables and switch on the computer, put everything nicely on the table for the lazy doctors. after that, i stamp the date and the doctor's name on the casenotes and wait for the patients to slowly arrive (hopefully). but more often than not, the patients like to arrive all at the same time and crowd around the room. haha. then after tt i will have to make phone calls to book the various scans (ultrasound, ct scan, MRI, which i have not done yet), guide patients to the dressing room to remove their stiches and dressing or to the finacial counselling room. after everything's done, that will be the end of the morning clinic. then, it will be lunch, followed by some time to slack, then the afternoon clinic. after all the patients are gone for the day, i will check in and check out the casenotes, then tada, slacking time until 6. hohoho.
anyway, here's an unbelated merry merry christmas to everyone.
